Melanie Masson has become the second act to leave X Factor 2012.
Once Taylor Swift and Rebecca Ferguson performed their new singles on tonight’s results show, host Dermot O’Leary revealed that District3 and Melanie Masson had received the fewest public votes and would have to sing again for their survival.
District3 sang Bryan Adam’s (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, while Melanie Masson performed Bette Midler’s Stay With Me Baby.
After both acts had performed, it was down to the judges to reveal which act they would like to send home.
Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh saved their own acts, leaving Nicole and Tulisa to decide who would leave the competition.
Tulisa said she would make her decision by going with her heart, adding: “My heart is with the lads so the act I am sending home is Melanie.”
Nicole praised District3 for their progression throughout the series, and told Melanie that based on the save me song, she wanted to save her, which meant for the second time this series the vote would go to Deadlock..
Dermot revealed that the act polling the fewest votes and therefore leaving the competition was Melanie.
