The Republic of Ireland face Belgium at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux this afternoon – day 9 of Euro 2016.

This Group E clash is the first of three matches to take place today and it will be shown live on ITV.

Although the sides have not met since Belgium recorded a 2-1 home win in 1997, both sides will be very familiar with each other.

A large proportion of the Belgian squad ply their trade in England, meaning the Irish will know exactly how talented the likes of Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne are. Everton’s James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman will be particularly wary of the threat Lukaku poses, having seen him spearhead their attack at club level to great effect.

However, despite the impressive strength in depth their opponents possess, Martin O’Neill’s men are likely to go into this match without fear. Their victory over world champions Germany during their qualification campaign demonstrated they can be a match for anyone on their day, and victory in this tie would put them in contention to reach the knockout stages of this competition for the first time in their history.

Mark Pougatch will be live on ITV from 1pm, where he’ll be joined in the stuio by Richard Dunne, Emmanuel Petit and Lee Dixon. Commentary comes from Sam Matterface and Andy Townsend.

Kick-off 2.00pm

From 4.30pm on BBC One, Mark Chapman presents coverage of Iceland v Hungary in the company of John Hartson.

This Group F clash comes from the Stade Velodrome in Marseille. Match commentary comes from Steve Wilson and Robbie Savage.

Kick-off 5.00pm

Portugal take on Austria in the final Euro 2016 clash of the day at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

Gary Lineker will present live coverage of this Group F encounter on BBC One from 7.30pm alongside Rio Ferdinand and Alan Shearer, while Guy Mowbray and Martin Keown provide match commentary.

Kick-off 8.00pm
