Croatia take on England in the second semi-final of World Cup 2018 this evening, which takes place at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, and features the winners of the third and fourth quarter-finals.
Having gone the distance against Colombia in the last 16 before prevailing on penalties, England’s quarter-final was an altogether more comfortable affair, as goals by Harry Maguire and Dele Alli gave them a 2-0 win against Sweden.
It is the Three Lions’ first appearance in the last four since 1990, and hopes are high that they can reach the final for only the second time, with the other occasion coming on home soil when they won the trophy in 1966.
However, they cannot take the Croatians lightly, as Zlatko Dalic’s side have not been at their fluent best during the knockout stages, but showed great resolve in overcoming both Denmark and hosts Russia on penalties.
This is the second time they have reached the last four, and they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of home nation and eventual champions France the last time in 1998.
The match will also be streamed live via the ITV Hub.
