How did you get started in broadcasting?
BBC needed cover for the main weather presenter.I auditioned for the part.

When was that?
About 1995.

Where else would have viewers seen or heard you before?
BBC TV and radio, but occasionally on other commercial radio stations.

What is your Best on-air moment?
Reporting from the Glastonbury Festival on a fine evening and then staying on to watch REM. Magic!

What is your Worst on-air moment?
Using the wrong clicker to make my graphics work.I had to stop and bend down to pick the right one up from the floor.

What would you like to do before your career ends?
I’m happy doing weather but I’d like to present at least one news bulletin before I finish.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to travel. I’ve been all over the world in the last ten years. I particularly loved Vietnam, Jordan and Namibia.

What advice would you give to anyone that would like to get into the broadcasting world?
Don’t take ‘no’ for an answer.Just find someone else in the same organisation,only higher up.
