I used to blush like mad just asking a question in class! Then having finished my maths degree at Exeter, I joined the Met Office as a forecaster. Ended up at London Weather Centre where you do some local radio weather broadcasts … and I loved it! It was my favourite part of the job there. Then a job came up at the BBC Weather Centre for television broadcasters and that’s where I headed!

1994

Why News broadcasting?
I love the weather – looking at it, experiencing it and talking about it!

Where else would have viewers seen or heard you before?
Before I joined the BBC, I did the weather for Meridian in Maidstone and in Southampton. I also broadcast the weather on Radio 4 and Radio 2.

What is your Best on-air moment?
When I got my clicker lead stuck under the screen in the BBC Breakfast studio much to the hilarity of Jeremy Bowen and Sophie Raworth.

What would you like to do before your career ends?
Be the oldest weather woman in the world! No…. Carry on enjoying it really.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Run. I love the Great North Run in Newcastle. Running clears my head.

A big thanks to Isobel for taking part.
