Kirsty Young and John Suchet will not co-present the main Five News bulletins as has been reported.
Suchet, who has been covering the bulletins whilst Young was on maternity leave, has though been given a permanent role at the channel. The pair will anchor the main 1730 and 1900 bulletins on alternate days.
Young, who is to become the new presenter of Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, is expected to return in late September. Suchet returns around the same time from his summer break.
The rest of the output will be covered by the rest of the Five News presenting team.
