Sky News have announced that it will launch in the 3D virtual world Second Life next month at The Guardian Hay Festival. Sky News is the first television news channel to take up a permanent presence in Second Life.

The news channel is building a Second Life replica of the Sky News Centre to give residents a unique behind-the-scenes, interactive look at its newsroom. Visitors to the virtual studio will be able to sit in presenter chairs, read the autocue and visit the gallery.
