Just a Quick update to what I’ve heard so far about the Sky News Mini-Relaunch.

There’s some new music coming(as we all know).

New programme executives have taken over Sunrise, the 1300 to 1700 show and the 2000 to midnight programme.

They’ll all be making subtle changes to their programmes, but nothing startling.

Sky may try to introduce a more Sky News Today feel to part of the evening output.

The 1300 to 1700 show will also feature more live content, although they dont have plans to present it from the newsroom like Sky News Today.

The Sky News Copter is now almost in service.
They tried to use it on the Channel Tunnel rail link story.. but had a technical problem with the live feed.

They’re now just fitting small cameras in the cockpit, pointing at a reporter’s position so that reporters can do piece to cameras inside on a running story. Another camera inside will give the viewer a perspective looking out through the cabin and cockpit window. And a giroscopic camera has been mounted underneath to give very steady picures.. It has a very powerful zoom lense, so even when air exclusion zones are thrown up.. the copter will still be able to get fairly decent shots of an incident from 2 or 3 miles away.

Should all be up and running within the next week or two.
Then expect to see the helicopter a couple of times a week.

It has also been painted in Sky Colours, so look out for it overhead.
