Business Editor Robert Preston will return to BBC News this evening, after taking a leave of absence following the death of his wife to lung cancer.

Robert and his wife met when they were teenagers and had a brief relationship, which ended when he took a posting in Brussels.

They rekindled their relationship in the mid-90s after her first marriage – from which she has a son Simon – ended.

The couple married in 1998 and have a teenage son, Max.
