Sky News is once again in the Tory leadership debating game.
They will broadcast a
head-to-head debate between leadership candidates Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss.
Kay Burley will front the event in front of a live audience from 8.00pm on Thursday 4th August.
“There has never been a more important time to reinvigorate the trust of voters in the office of the prime minister,” said John Ryley, head of Sky News.
“This live TV debate on Sky News gives the final two candidates a chance to reconnect with millions by debating the major issues facing Britain.
“It presents a unique opportunity to re-engage a disillusioned electorate.”
Sky News cancelled their first scheduled debate after Sunak and Truss pulled out.
The BBC will also air a head-to-head debate from 9.00pm on Monday 25th July.
UPDATE: Sky News has confirmed to Guido that the debate is no longer head-to-head. Instead there will be audience questions to the candidates followed by separate 15-minute interviews with host Kay Burley.
