The ITV Lunchtime News is to return to a shorter time slot and be broadcast later, it has been announced.
From September 4, the bulletin will be broadcast between 1.30pm and 2pm. The move is part of a major overhaul of ITV’s daytime schedule by new controller of factual and daytime, Alison Sharman.
ITV only lengthened the Lunchtime bulletin from 30 to 60 minutes last Spring when the programme also reverted back to 2 presenters. Katie Derham presented alongside previous presenter Nicholas Owen.
ITV has not given details over who will present the bulletin but it is presumed that Owen will present with Derham covering the bulletin when he is absent.
