ITV News has appointed Keir Simmons as the new UK Editor. After weeks of waiting, confirmation has come through to TV Newsroom that Keir Simmons is now the new UK Editor. He is one of a few that were speculated, Rohit Kachroo – who also seemed to be appealing will be the new Crime Correspondent.

“In Keir we have a ready made replacement for Angus Walker following his move to China Correspondent,” said Jonathan Munro, ITV News deputy editor.

Keir described his new role as “Challenging and Exciting”

In other news, Emily Morgan has a 6 month contract signed as a general reporter for ITV News.
