ITV will broadcast a hour-long live programme this evening in which David Cameron and Nigel Farage will in turn answer questions from a studio audience.

‘Cameron and Farage Live: The EU Referendum’ will be broadcast at 9pm and be moderated by Julie Etchingham, who moderated ITV’s successful Leaders’ Debate during the 2015 General Election campaign.

The live programme will see both party leaders answer questions from a studio audience of up to 200 people. Nigel Farage will take questions first, followed by the Prime Minister who will then take the floor.

Prime Minister David Cameron announced the date of the 23rd June referendum in February. This will be the second live referendum programme in which he’ll appear putting the case for Britain to remain in the EU, that will also feature one of his leading opponents putting the case for Brexit.

Nigel Farage, who will take questions from the same studio audience, has been campaigning for Britain to leave the EU for more than 20 years. The UKIP leader saw his party gain 3.8 million votes at the 2015 General Election – making it Britain’s third largest party in terms of the popular vote.

The audience has been drawn from across the UK and will pose their questions directly to the party leaders.
