It’s rumoured the revamp of BBC News will go ahead on Monday 15th July 2019.

This will include the introduction of the new BBC corporate font: BBC Reith.

An internal email to BBC staff said the new font will be used for:

  • “Network bulletins: use them in headlines and quarters, but not end heads”
  • “Nations/Regions programmes: use them at the top of their main show, and if possible in the opt heads into 1/6/10. They do not appear in the quarter past opt heads.
  • “Our news channels: use the headlines straps in heads, half heads and quarter heads. They do not appear on Sport heads, and there is a different format for News Channel business.”
