I see from the below link that Sheila, Viv and Paula will not be part of the relaunch. I am sorry to see them go as Lisa Aziz.

I have heard rumours that the main newsreader in Scotland - Shereen Nanjiani is in the new line up - does anyone know if there is any truth on this? http://relaunch.skynewscentre.co.uk/htt ... tre.co.uk/>

New studios and new programmes are a good idea to keep things fresh but whats happening with the existing presenters, especially the women. Whats happening with Viv and Juliette, they are my favourite presenters. Who is in charge of presenter scheduling (a male by any chance)?? They seem to be bringing in new presenters just for the sake of it. Im sure Viv & Juliette could do the job far better than the new girls who ive never even heard of! Is Ginny Buckley the girl from the BBC holiday programe? Not exactly hard news material!

Such a shame about Viv, so under used by Sky at the moment, but I suppose after 15+ years she may have decided on a change, I understand she has a number of other projects away from Sky News. Can't say that I'm too surprised about Sheila, she seems to have been fazed out already and Paula never has been my cup of tea so not too fussed there. Although I still can't believe they aren't ditching the dire Juliette Foster. As Lilly Savage would say, she permenantly looks like she's just discovered a skid mark on a hotel towel!

The axes are out. Anyone female above 30 better duck, (unless your Kay Burley or Emma Crosby you can rest easy). I presume the male presenters will mostly survive intact.

Never mind skid marks - who pinched your scone?

I would sympathise with your comments if they were constructive, but they aren't.

I take it you are a Juliette Foster fan then.

I do apologise for having a different opinion to you in that case

From what has already been said Viv, Juliette, Paula etc are not involved in the new programming but are they being axed completely? or will they continue to present the rolling news sections in the evening and at weekends?

Robbbo, you seem to be mixing Sheila and Juliette up... I think Juliette is probably going to be apart of the evening lineup with Chris Robers.

Why are people jumping to such conclusions. Sky News havn't even released their full schedule yet, aside from, Kay/Jeremy/Lorna/Eammon and Julie, we don't officially know who will be presenting what.

It would, however, be a shame if they didn't give Viv, Juliette and Sheila a more active roll. (I actually quite like Sheila, although maybe for pre-recorded programmes, as she is prone to mincing her words, bless her).

We still have 4 hours each weekday evening, as well as the gaps during the day, and the whole weekend schedule yet to be confirmed by Sky, so lets wait and see.

Hi guys

When Simon Mc Coy left to join the Beeb. Greg Milam was promoted from Field Reporter to Anchor. Now, in the last few weeks I've also seen Colin Brazier go the same way and I've become more and more annoyed and sad.

What does it take to put Jane Secker behind the desk co-presenting with the lovely Anna Botting and put Greg Milam+Colin Bazier back out in the field.

Please guys, Do Jane Justice and put her presenting with Anna

Johnnie, on the relaunch site you say at the bottom that the evening shift will be pretty similar to as it is now, except with an hour of world news. How certain are you about that, surely that is the slot that has always needed beefing up? It seems a bit odd to go with special programmes from 5 until 8 but then lapse into the old rolling news through the evening. I was hoping the evening would look like this:

5-6.30 Live at Five with Julie

6.30-6.45 Sportsline

6.45-7: Businness Report

7-8: In depth/analysis programme with JT

8-9: Mon, Wed & Fri: The Boulton Factor; Tue &Thu: World News with Tim Marshall*

9-10: Another in depth programme, maybe with more emphasis on interviews, Alastair Stewart would be good. *

10-12: Sky News Tonight, Chris Roberts and Juliette Foster with all the headlines, analysis, paper review etc. Sportsline in that at 10.30

*: I was originally going to have Adam Boulton presenting this shift all week and no world news, but then I thought that he already has a huge workload, and having to prepare/present an evening programme 5 nights a week might be a bit much. Alistair Stewart would be very good in his own show, like his current one at ITV, but getting him away from London Tonight would be harder. Oh, and to all those that will complain about Viv, Sheila etc. obviously they wouldn't leave the channel because they dont have a set place, cover is needed across all shifts, and on weekends. There are always going to have to be "floating" presenters.

I'm assuming the midnight-6am shift will remain the same, with the likes of Gordon Radley, Michael Watkins and others. I'm also assuming that they'll be keeping Sky World News and Sky World News Review and Business Report (such a mouthful for those titles! ) between 4am and 6am Mon-Fri after the relaunch too.
