Don't be worried if you think this is simple, there is a more 'advanced' logo.
That is the simple one!
Not worried that it is 'too simple', im worried because it is garbage.
How much more advanced can a TV logo be? Its not supposed to take over the screen. By 'more advanced' I assume you mean it may be 3D, metallic or rendered in gradients?

First off all - sorry if this is the wrong thread - there are so many regarding the forthcoming new look SKY News.
What is the source for Gillian Joseph joining - or is it just speculation?
I'll merge the 2 topics...
It was mentioned on TV Forum - I'd heard that the original poster works for the BBC.

I think all the rumours i published are spot on. I was a little concerned with the evening line-up that i published on Sky News Centre - but with the latest news that Gillian will be working 9-midnight, it all seems spot on...
I think they'll go with Julie at 7, World News at 8 and then Gillian and male presenter till midnight (Sportsline at 10:30pm)
I did have one theory which I was told isn't true.. I thought the 3 presenter slots would be two presenting the main news and one doing the top stories, plugs etc, but I was told all 3 presenters will have a equal amount to do per-hour.

Sounds very interesting Johnnie - I like the sound of it so far.
Yet where will Chris and Juliette feature in this relaunch?

I can't honestly beleive Sky News would shove aside presenters which they have had for years in favour of newcomers, at least on such a large scale. I mean, are we really expected to think that Viv, Paula, Sheila, Emma, Juliette and Anjali are not going to included in the relaunch?
I'm sure we can't be getting the whole picture here. It may well be the case, but I don't feel inclined to believe much of it.
It's a case of I'll believe it when I see it, it's not long to wait. And frankly the sooner it comes the better, if only to end any rumours that are bubbling up.
Also, as far as I'm aware, Sky havn't publicly confirmed any of the new presenters roles (except Eammon), least of all this Gillian lady. Would the BBC really know the full structure of Sky News' relaunch? She may well present in the 9-midnight slot, but in what context we don't know.

Emma is doing Weekend Sunrise with Steve Gaisford, and i think Anjali and Juliette will be apart of the new line-up.
Thanks Johnnie
Please keep us posted about Juliette. I look forward to your updates on the line up. I guess you'll have more about the weekends before October.
I will be quite honest - if they do ditch so many veteran presenters - I will be tuning into other channels despite any glitzy relaunch. The snazzy images fade in importance - top notch journalists never fade in appeal. I am sure no-one here or at SKY will bother - yet if others do the same that may be different?
As HBox says the long awaited relaunch will tell the full story. I personally don't believe Juliette will be ditched from a prominent role at SKY News. She features heavily in the current set up, as a good all rounder with a good business and news understanding. She is also a fantastic inquisitive interviewer. I think SKY would be foolish to throw her into the back drawer come October.
Or perhaps my prediction that Jordan and Jodie Marsh will feature in the new line up is not as stupid as I thought. Jordan can discuss interest rates and fluctuations in the markets. Jodie can interview John Prescott about the environment?

Can't wait for the new look Sky News + ultra high tech studio, sounds really amazing! Let's hope the UK can remain a world leader for fast and quality news.
The logo hasn't changed much though, it is bare without the blue. Too much white and red.... I hope the ident movie will stay the same with the UK map... however a black UK looks stupid, what happened to the satellite animation of the UK? It looked more realistic and accompanied better music.
The music currently isn't that bad though... Just don't go for something boring. Keep it dramatic and lively!
Best of luck, can't wait to watch! Must be exciting for the crew and presenters to have a totally new set.
I hope we can go on a guided tour of it!

the old introduction music with the new intro graphics would be brilliant. the only thing i dont like about the ones at the moment is the way uk and Ireland just appear after showing austrailla, it was better in the old one. the sky news today closing music at the moment really concludes a brilliant programme the best for me. does anyone know if sky are going to do anything with sky news Ireland for the relaunch??
