Just crusing around and read this:

Sky Scottish launched 1st November 1996 at 6pm. It was a joint venture between Sky and Scottish TV broadcasting. Broadcasting initially for a couple of hours each night 6pm-8pm after Granada Talk TV, later Sky Box Office 3. The channel closed down in June 1998 due to poor viewing figures.I think that totally proves my argument. Keeping in mind there were 5.5 m subscribers then and just over 7 m now.

How about if Sky News did a broadcast of news from all parts of the UK, say an individual fifteen-minute programme on each of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, like a network sort of thing. Where the broadcast changes from from studio to studio broadcasting news from country after country. If you know what i mean.

I sort of know what im talking about.

and IrelandWell, I was always hoping that Sky News Ireland would be heading for a continuous Irish News channel for the times that are economical, because I do believe that could be profitable (it would at least break even) as long as they got their act together, which is highly unlikely for the near future.

The last thing Sky needs is a Scottish service. National Television news helps to keep the United Kingdom together.
