Just some of my reactions....
Ok new idents and openers are good - what we expected having seen Oz. I'm interested to see how the globe will look with the extended roll and name tag for Sky News Today...
Lorna and Greg standing in newscentre at 7 (a la Sky News Today) - not terribly inventive but at least they've started to do something with the programme (for god sake even the night slot (8-midnight managed to get off their arses before them!)
The graphics - some are o.k. I actually like the huge "Coming up" one, but all the red and white will have to grow on me I hope!
And the "non-tickering ticker" - well I'll refrain from saying what I screamed at the TV but it's cheap - either pay somebody to put the content on it or lose it!
Anyway that's all my initial reaction...

yes... all looks good - Not too sure about the active and vote straps seems messy.
I don't like the red thin line on top of the straps.
I do like the white strap on top of the 'coming up/top stories" straps.
Love the ident.
Glad they have changed the background on the split screen - it seems to be the same as the Soham/EU backdrop.

The graphic looks fine,...but standing positions of Lorna & Greg and different camera shots are even more noticeable than the new graphic. They both did main news standing, like on "Sky News Today", then Lorna moved to the news wall and did "News in Brief". Everything looks much more dynamic on Sunrise now.
....but one bad thing...the ticker...not here too!

Just back from holiday where I had sky news international. The ?new? idents (as Australia) where partially played on an advert (don?t know if it just on the international version as I haven?t seen it yet here.)
That is the 15 years of Breaking News ad that they have had running for a while. Interesting to see what they are going to do tomorrow, a new look for Sunrise would be brilliant, as would the long awaited new graphics. Any idea about what Sunrise will be like?
No it's a different ad, I presume it has not been on in the UK but only internationally. Details of this ad are

I like the 'coming up' strap too, although there does seem to be too much red on the straps at times. I'd like to see a bit more blue around the place. (But that's probably just me.) - It's taken a few hours for them to grow on me but overall, yeah I like the changes.
The ident is a nice evolution of the last globe ident. The straps do look a bit cheap, but I'm sure they'll grow on me.
The dicky non-ticking ticker - hmmm. I suppose it's different and reflects the interactive nature of the channel by displaying Email etc but I do think they could use it a bit better during Sunrise - i.e. have it flipping over with weather - rather than having it static or ticking.
With regards to Sunrise - the format change is great, but still lacking that soft set - I just feel that it's too formal to be sat at a desk at that time of day - no matter how short the time they are there is for.
The weather graphics are starting to look tired, and it's a shame that they didn't change.
The blue background on the 2ways is nice - it looks like the searchlight around the globe just scanning - a bit like a radar I suppose.
The sport graphics are horrendus though - all centered, different sizes shapes etc etc. There's no coherence to them at all except the whooshy white background - seems the graphic designer had an off day when designing those. I was hoping that they would be similar to the Player of the Year gfx they used last week.
Sort these things out along with the 8.00pm to 12.00am slot and you'll have nailed it I think!

I've had a chance to look at the new graphics last night and on the whole I think it is a change for the better - although the large "Coming Up" and "Top Stories" strap will take some getting used to.
One thing I don't understand is why some of the straps that contain the names of people who appear on the screen (sorry don't know the official term) just appear and then disappear - it would be good if these could be animated as well. Also I think it would be better if the graphics that appear just under the clock could also be animated as well. Maybe roll down and then up again.
Keep up the good work.

This new blue bar is pointless
I do not need a web address - I can find it myself - same with the email- and a permanant horrible red dot - even on freeview which is not cursed with skys red dot rubbish
My letter of complaint already sent

Just had a peek at the grabs of the 'new' set of graphics and stuff...
Yay! Nice to see an adaption of the 'classic' intro used a few years back, when the different programmes were actually distinguished from each other by more than just a change of presenters. Loved that look, and glad to see it back in an updated form.
Nay for the general graphics though. Congratulations on making a horrible look seem even worse! Logo aside, when is Sky News going to wake up and see how fugly their current on-screen appearence is?
As for the purpose of a non-ticking ticker...

On the non-ticking ticker, is that a mistake on the Activebit? It says Press red and select - select what?
I suppose it's because once you press Red you can select quite a few different "active" services, of which the Sky News Active service is just one. But the ticker that doesn't move does annoy me now, as why have a ticker if you are not going to scroll news items across it?
