Although from the sound of Sunrise this morning, it was killing mice more than anything and strange comments from Mark Longhurst

What did Mark Longhurst have to say?

"Kay and her dancing partner Fred marked bottom by judges originally...not best bottom, just bottom..." [talks about the skate-off] to which Helen Fospero replied "You're likely to be in a lot of trouble for that bottom remark Mark." - "rather likely to be in a lot of trouble anyway."

eventually followed by Helen telling him he was skating on thin-ice over commenting Kay was showing her underwear live on national television.

Hmm, yes. The Sky Newsroom is a strangely old-fashioned place. One suspects comments like that aren't always made or received with the greatest of collegiate good-humour.

The grin-to-win choreography + eccentric hair 'n makeup wasn't entirely in her best interest though, it must be said.

hmm yes that smile did upset some of the judges she looked like she was engaged in some other pursuit as fred held her from behind !

I think these coarse comments are reserved mainly for kay , she is a figure of fun to some of the male colleagues . Still she is 'queen of sky news' so she can deal with it.

I 'm hoping for better next week, with better dancing, sexier skating movements and less matronly pants. No manic grinning and a flattering hair do from ms burley.

Heart of Glass

Coming back this evening from L.A. "Over there" debate and writing before The Academy Awards Nominees for best actress, movies a.s.o. before the Oscars.

The american L.A.-people (read Drew Barrymore and some unknown movie-people) talk very much of english Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench in "The Queen" and "Notes on A Scandal" and, of course the Oscar veteran, Meryl Streep, "The Devil wears Prada" for best actress in a leading role. Also Kate Winslet "Little Children" can take a nomination with Naomi Watts "The Painted Veil" (very bad PR-service for the movie from Warner Independent Home, so today: I don?t know), Penelope Cruz "Volver" and Anette Bening in "Running with Scissors" also looking for a best actress....And maybe a very good english "longshot" from former-winner Emma Thompson?s "Strange Than Fiction" in the category Best Supporting Actress. Also an Oscar-nominations for "Dreamgirls" - but I can find the category right here........

So I havn?t seen Kay Burley skaiting and dancing saturday, of course. Not a single minutes from Sky since thursday. But my wife told me, Kay Burley wasn?t bad and she was skating to the old Blondie-no. #1-hit in UK "Heart of Glass" from 1979.

Well - I am absolute not a Kay Burley-fan. So let us see next week. Friend and Classeyham.........

SOCCER ace Frank Lampard is heading to the Dancing On Ice rink to support pal Kay Burley ? but Chelsea have BANNED him from skating.

Chelsea bosses have forbidden Lamps, 28, from joining her on the ice at Elstree studios in case of injury. A pal of Sky News anchorwoman Kay, 46, said: ?She?s been feeling pretty down. She only wanted to have some fun and raise cash for Macmillan cancer nurses.http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001 ... 75,00.html>

According to the latest entry in Kay's blog, Jacquie Beltrao and her daughter are going to be in the audience.

Sky News sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao and her daughter Amelia will be in the audience. Close family friends and my other half will be there too. I can't bear to put my son through the tension again, so he wants to watch from home. I bet he'll be playing computer games instead though.

Well Kays hair and dress look ten times better this week. Kay managed to stay off the bottom this week, now joint 2nd from bottom. I hope that she does not have to endure another skate off!

Kay did very well this week considering her blow to the head which did nothing for her confidence.

Her movement to the music is getting better , her lifts were better and her footwork on the ice was good.

I liked her hand jives during the one lift and her smile was more genuine too.

Well done to Kay

Reading Kay's blog today , she sounds if the shock has worn off and she's back to reality with another bump.

I hope she can get over her loss of confidence and get back into the skating in the next few days. It'll be a shame if after what she's been through in the past week that she can't recover now and then show us what she can do on Saturday's show.

I found this on Popbitch this morning

Sky News staff are enjoying Kay Burley on Dancing on Ice. She hobbles in after morning ice practice to

choruses of "you're very brave", and stifled giggles.

Chris Roberts asked Kay this morning when she did a live with Shilpa if Shilpa was going to give her ice-skating tips....

I suppose it is quite funny, seeing as Mark Longhurst's been taking the mick on air...I know a few weeks before it started she was complaining about falling on the ice to Charlie Thomas, and he didn't quite laugh about it, but a sarcastic "ooh."

I'd like to see when she eventually does come out, the monday edition of LTL dedicated to her and Fred's hard work [ ]

That could be sooner than she wants unless her mind returns to the super cool and hard as ice kay is, or likes to think

she is when she gets back onto the ice today and friday

I'm being a bit over cynical here just for once but is Ms Burley really shaking at the thought of skating on saturday or is she playing the sympathy card to improve her chances. Last week she was the bravest thing on ice without doubt, but what is she like now, is Kay suffering from PTSAS or is she ready for the hurley burley of competition ? Will Saturday reveal anything ( including her bottom I hope ) about just how much Kay has recovered from it in another rollercoaster of a week in Kay's dramatic and eventful skating career.

Keep watching this space. ^_^

You've been sniffing about and inspecting her blog .

I've got a mixed set of feelings about this , no revealing views as Kay goes aerial tonight ?

A cat suit ? Maybe all of Kay will be there to see , just under lycra . She can't wear padding with that .....

remembers freddie starr impersonating mick jagger , kenny everett 's Rod stewart ............

Not a good look , better if kay wears nothing but her cat suit and boots .

Good luck Miss Kay Burley.
