Sky News' website is truly 'orrible. Bad design, minimal content, random videos - ok so they spend lots of money on their news channel and couldn't possibly compete with the e-normous BBC site, but still, I sometimes wonder why they bother or if they are ever going to redesign it. It also does not open properly on some high res widescreen monitors, esp Dell laptops (quite ironic when you look at who puts an ad on it every day!), which is not really Sky's fault except that they have designed it in a rather kindergarten vertical block way.

I know nuuuthing about website design, but would it cost so much to make it a bit better?

It would be good as well to read more in-depth news stories [eg written by foreign correspondents] that are too detailed or not quite considered sexy enough to make the main rolling news. Or for a 2 minute story to be elaborated on by the correspondent. I would have liked to have read more of the recent report by Dominic Waghorn from China. The news gave it prominence, but not depth.

I'd also hope for better search and archive facilities - it would be nice to access some old news stories vids and be able to record them.

do any of you have any tech problems with the site on your PC btw? I've had 2 laptops that just won't display the site properly and one old one with a terrific screen (much better than today's laptop glossies) on which it opens fine.
