it will be quite good. I remember reading about that guy who slapped Kay Burley and he was on about ?120,000. Newsreaders make a fortune on BBC, ITV. Mark Austin earns ?350,000....NICE

I heard Eamonn Holmes was on excess of ?300,000. I was wondering if people such as Lukwesa who do the overnights are on a fixed hourly wage?

i think Martin is a freelancer, which is probably why he works every hour he can. I doubt he earns anywhere near what the likes of Kay Burley, Adam Boulton, Eamonn Holmes et al pocket each month.

that said, it's still strange how he was required to work 12 hrs a day. I don't see why Sky don't rope in couple of their reporters to do a couple of shifts if they're going short.

If there's one man who earns his money, it's Adam Boulton. I have read somewhere that he is a workaholic and gives hours and hours of devotion to his job, and it shows in his reports and programmes such as that with the idiot that is Al Gore. Top notch. Wish the same could be said about Kay, but, I don't think I can manage it ^^

Martin is now wearing glasses on-air, is this the first time he has done so?

private eye reported, and i posted here, that adam boulton receives (from memory) ?550,000pa + clothing allowance.

..that was a couple of years ago now.

he is worth it, i believe.. this is what major on screen assets cost & he could just be a mark austin type who does an hour a day maybe..? ..boulton is skynews - he breathes it. - a lot of responsibility too - he's an editor, managing people & policies.. as well as being onair a lot of the time.. as well as having the responsibility of saying the correct thing on air

- i remember he named which Prime Minister's Official Spokesman gave him some information, because he felt it was the right thing to do, in the circumstances - rather than sticking to the political custom of saying 'the pm's spokesman said...' brave man, for an insider - sticks to his principles and is fair, although with opinions - cos it's not the bbc.

edit:

I found the post, it was ?480,000 in around Oct 2004. (source, private eye..) apparantly there was speculation boulton was going to work in downing st a couple of years before that.. i could see that. ..but i presume sky doubled his wages and he stayed..! anyway, here is my justification of ?480,000 back then;

Presumably, justifying his salary is easy. Frost probably gets a similar amount just for being sycophantic on a Sunday. If he's doing a similar amount of work, probably much more live, than someone like Andy Marr or Mardell then that plus Sundays is easily worth half a mill in medialand. And I presume he's the editor in charge of Craig, Percival, Spencer and maybe others? It all adds up.
