X Factor 2012: Week 2 • Chris Maloney favourite to be eliminated tonight!

Christopher Maloney is the 9/4 favourite to be eliminated in tonight’s live results show, according to leading online betting comparison site Oddschecker.com.

The wildcard winner sang Alone by Heart and received a mixed reception from the judging panel on last night’s ‘Love & Heartbreak’ themed-show.

Louis and Tulisa didn’t like the 34 year-old’s performance with Louis saying “It was very cruise ship, cabaret” and a “little bit cheesy”… Tulisa added: “Your voice is one of the strongest in the competition but it doesn’t feel current to me.”

Nicole and Gary were in favour of his rendition: “Is that Chris Maloney? Wow!,” said the Pussycat Doll.. “Brilliant song choice and that note at the end….effortless.”

His mentor Gary said “There is no need to make you current, changing you is not the way to go. You are perfect the way you are.”

Rylan is second favourite at 4/1, while boy group District 3 are currently third favourite to leave the competition at 9/2.

And it’s 5/4 that the judges will send the vote to another deadlock.
