The Royal Television Society (RTS) awards for Television Journalism take place this evening, live at the London Hilton in Park Lane.
The awards, for news and current affairs, recognise creative and excellent journalism by organisations whose broadcasts are received in the UK and by the agencies which supply UK news broadcasters.
Former BBC Breakfast presenter Sian Williams will announce the winners from around 9.30pm.
We’ll update this page throughout the night as the results come in..
Lifetime Achievement Award
And the final award of the night goes to BBC investigative reporter Peter Taylor, who is awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Judges’ Award
The Judges’ Award for 2012/2013 goes to former ITV News Editor Deborah Turness.
Deborah is currently working in America as President of NBC News.

Journalist of the Year
The BBC’s Jeremy Bowen has been named Journalist of the Year 2012/2013 at the RTS awards tonight!
He was up against ITV News’ Bill Neely and Mark Stone of Sky News.

Specialist Journalist of the Year
Channel 4 News’ Michael Crick has won the award for Specialist Journalist of the Year 2012/2013
Accepting the award, Crick said: “Thanks to Channel 4 for lifting me from Newsnight and proving there is life after death”

Daily News Programme of the Year
Channel 4 News wins RTS Daily News Programme of the Year, seeing off ITV News at Ten and Channel 5 News.

Scoop of the Year
ITN for ITV News has won the Scoop of the Year 2012/2013 for coverage of the Woolwich Attack.
Nominated for this award were Dispatches ‘Plebgate Investigation’ and BBC’s ‘Attack on a Syrian School’
News Channel of the Year
CNN International has won the RTS News Channnel of the Year award for the second year running.
National Presenter of the Year
ITV News’ Mark Austin has won the RTS Award for National Presenter of the Year 2012/2013.
Channel 4 presenters Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Jon Snow were also nominated for the award.

The winner of Innovative News 2012/2013 is ‘Don’t Panic: The Truth About Population’ from Wingspan for BBC Two

Channel 4’s Dispatches has won the Current Affairs – Home RTS award for ‘The Hunt for Britain’s Sex Gangs’ from True Vision.
Panorama’s ‘Broken’ and ‘Hillsborough: How They Buried The Truth’ were also nominated for the award.
Dispatches also picks up the Current Affairs – International award for ‘Syria: Across the Lines’

CNN has won the International News Coverage award for their coverage of Typhoon Haiyan.
News Coverage – Home
The home News Coverage award for 2012/2013 goes to the Woolwich Attack coverage from ITN for ITV News.
Regional Presenter of the Year
BBC Look East’s Stewart White has won the Regional Presenter of the Year 2012/2013 at tonight’s RTS TV Journalism awards.
Nina Hossain of ITV News London and Alex Lovell of BBC Points West were also nominated for this award.
Nation and Regions News Programme
BBC East Midlands Today has been won the award for Nations and Regions News Programme, seeing off BBC Newsline and ITV Calendar.
