Bob Diamond at Treasury Select Committee live on BBC News, Sky News from 2pm

Bob Diamond will face Members of Parliament today when he faces the Treasury Select Committee.

Diamond, who was the chief executive officer of Barclay until yesterday, was called to give evidence after it came to light the bank tried to manipulate inter-bank lending rates.

The bank was handed a £290m fine by British and American regulators last week, for submitting false reports on borrowing rates during 2005 and 2009.

“The external pressure placed on Barclays has reached a level that risks damaging the franchise — I cannot let that happen,” Bob Diamond said following his resignation.

“I am deeply disappointed that the impression created by the events announced last week about what Barclays and its people stand for could not be further from the truth.”

Bob’s appearance at the Treasury Select Committee will be shown live on the BBC News Channel and Sky News from 2pm this afternoon.

Live streaming will also be available on the BBC News website as well as the Sky News website.
