A new series of Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 5 this evening.
This year, the first group of residents will all be women, to mark the 100th anniversary of women over 30 being given the vote, and will initially explore how the all-female housemates interact in a man-free zone.
“We approach each series thinking of ways to make it as entertaining and engaging as possible,” said Tamsin Dodgson, executive editor of Celebrity Big Brother.
“As the nation prepares to mark [the centenary], we’re launching the show with female-only contestants which is a gentle nod to this landmark anniversary.”
Rumoured to be joining this year’s house is Journalist Rachel Johnson, former Tory MP Ann Widdecombe, former Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati, Made in Chelsea’s Louise Thompson, former MP for Bristol North West Charlotte Leslie, TV news presenter India Willoughby, and Sinitta.
The live launch gets underway at 9.00pm on Channel 5 and Channel 5 HD.
Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side is on the same channel from 11.35pm. This is followed by 45 minutes of live streaming from 12.30am.
