Matt Barbet and Ranvir Singh will be the new presenters of the first hour of ITV1’s Daybreak.
The pair, who take up their new roles in September, will join the refreshed Daybreak to present the first hour of the programme between 6-7am followed by Daybreak’s new main presenters Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones.
Matt, currently with Channel 5 News said: “I’m hugely excited to be joining the team at ITV. During my career to date I’ve been privileged to cover some massive stories, from the Afghan war to the Royal Wedding, and I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to my new role on Daybreak.”
Ranvir, former BBC North West Tonight presenter, added: “I’m very excited about joining Lorraine, Aled and Matt. We’ll be buzzing with all the morning news and having a laugh along the way I hope. I can’t wait to get started!”

On Monday 26th June 2023, BBC Breakfast begun broadcasting from a new studio with new on screen graphics. Weather and sports updates will also come from the new studio in Salford.
