Eamonn Holmes is set to return to GMTV as part of a massive revamp of the show.
According to the ‘Daily Mail’, ITV is hoping to team Eamonn Holmes up with former X Factor presenter, Kate Thornton.
Holmes and Thornton will present this Friday’s ‘This Morning’ together.
A inside source told the Daily Mail: “It is quite an imaginative pairing. ITV will be trying them out on Friday. Eamonn would usually be presenting it with Ruth, but she is covering for Lorraine on GMTV this week. With Eamonn and Kate it will almost be like a pilot. If it works they will be licking their lips.”
“Kate is well known to Saturday night 16-year-old viewers from her time on The X Factor and so it makes sense that she can bring in a different audience and she has done well on Loose Women.”
“There is the contractual issue with Eamonn and Sky, but what ITV is doing is getting its ducks in a row and previewing what it regards as its dream team for breakfast TV. There is going to have to be a a lot of contractual negotiations with Sky.”
