Rachel Brookes is a correspondent for Sky Sports F1’s coverage.
She began her career by winning a search for a DJ competition on KISS in London and was a freelance presenter there until being snapped up by Rock FM in Preston.
Rachel’s love of sport, particularly cricket, saw her present on talkSPORT tv before being offered the role of Sports News reader on the stations No 1 show, The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
From talkSPORT, Rachel was offered a role with Sky Sports News and in her first year with the channel became the first woman to present live cricket updates from the boundary edge.
After 18 months with Sky Sports News, Setanta Sports News started up and Rachel was offered a presenting role with the new channel.
When the channel closed in 2009, Rachel joined Premier League tv as a freelancer presenting pre-match programming from around the country.
In June 2010 Rachel was offered the role of Football World Cup correspondent for Bloomberg News and spent the summer in South Africa reporting live to the world every day from various locations around the country.
On her return from the World Cup Rachel was offered a full-time position with Sky Sports News once more. This time presenting from the studio as well as reporting.
In addition to the television and radio work, Rachel has presented numerous high profile events and award ceremonies.
