Jane O’Brien is a BBC News presenter and correspondent for television and radio based in Washington DC.
Jane hosts World News America, the BBC’s nightly news programme airing on public television in the US.
Before permanently moving to the US in 2003, Jane travelled regularly for the BBC in the UK, Europe and the Gulf, reporting from Kuwait on the military build up to the War in Iraq and from Bahrain on the US Fifth Fleet’s key role in the invasion of Afghanistan.
She also held a number of reporting briefs including Arts and Entertainment correspondent and West of England Correspondent.
