Niall Paterson is a presenter for Sky News
He has worked at Sky News since 2004, starting on the contracts desk before gaining roles as a producer, Political Correspondent, Defence Correspondent, Media & Technology Correspondent, and News Correspondent.
In his role as a Political Correspondent for Sky News, Niall followed Gordon Brown on the campaign trail during the 2010 General Election, breaking the story of Mr Brown’s ‘bigot’ comment about voter, Gillian Duffy. He also covered the MPs expenses scandal and broke the news live on air that Julie Kirkbride would not be standing again at election and had a ten minute interview with Geoff Hoon on the day he tried to oust Gordon Brown from government.
After studying Law and Criminology at the University of Sheffield, Niall then received a Diploma from Northern Media School for Broadcast Journalism.
Niall enjoys returning home to Alloway in south west Scotland, his ever-expanding vinyl collection, and being a fair-weather fan of Celtic.
