Charlie Thomas – Q&A

Name?
Charlie Thomas

Where are you from?
I’m from Somerset

How did you get started in broadcasting? / When was that?
Got started in journalism as a reporter for the Hounslow Informer in the mid 80s.
Then went into broadcasting in 1988 as a sports reporter with Capital Gold.

In 1990 started working for Sky. At the same time, freelanced for other companies like Screensport and IRN. Commentated on the 1991 rugby world cup, and ATP tennis for Screensport. For SKy, I was football reporter from 1992 to 94. For the next five years I was cricket reporter, going on seven England cricket tours, plus covering the domestic seasons back home and the 1999 world cup.

Since 1999 I’ve been a presenter on Sky News. Have also worked for other independent companies like Octagon and ISL, but too numerous to mention!

A big thanks to Charlie for taking part.
