Lisa Dowd - Biography & Images

Lisa Dowd

Lisa Dowd is a correspondent for Sky News.

Since joining Sky News in 2005 Lisa has covered some of the biggest stories across the UK.

She led coverage of the Derby house fire in which Mick and Mairead Philpott were convicted for killing their six children.

Her tenacity and unparalleled Midlands’ contacts meant she was the first journalist to reveal the inadequate OFSTED report of one of the schools at the heart of the so-called ‘Trojan Horse’ plot in Birmingham.

Elsewhere, Lisa has covered the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the murder of Welsh schoolgirl April Jones, England’s riots in 2011, the appalling cruelty case of Daniel Pelka in Coventry and the substandard care scandal at Stafford hospital.

Within the fast moving hunt for fugitive Raoul Moat she sensitively secured an exclusive half hour interview with Moat’s brother who described how he watched Raoul’s death live on television.

Lisa started her career in radio and worked for ITV Central before joining Sky.
