World Cup 2018 continues this afternoon as South Korea take on Germany in the third and final round of fixtures in Group F.

Following defeat in their opener against Mexico, reigning champions Germany were staring elimination in the face in their second game against Sweden on Saturday, having gone behind to an Ola Toivonen strike in the first half.

However, Marco Reus prodded home an equaliser before Toni Kroos lashed home a bending shot to win it with virtually the last kick of the match.

A victory in this game may still not be enough to see Germany qualify, however, if Sweden defeat Mexico by a wider margin.

South Korea lost both of their opening games, but may still sneak through if they can beat the Germans by two or more goals, and if Mexico overcome Sweden.

The countries have only ever met three times before, with two of those games taking place at the World Cup finals.

Their most famous match came during the 2002 tournament jointly held in South Korea and Japan.

The host nation – managed by Dutchman Guus Hiddink – had remarkably made it all the way to the semi-finals, but their dream was to end against Germany in Seoul, with Michael Ballack scoring the only goal of the game to book his side’s place in the final against eventual winners Brazil.

Gary Lineker will be live on BBC One and BBC One HD from 2.45pm, where he’ll be joined in the studio by Alan Shearer, Cesc Fabregas and Jermaine Jenas.

Match commentary comes from Jonathan Pearce and Kevin Kilbane.

Kick-off 3.00pm

The match will also be streamed live via the BBC iPlayer.
